Tips to Find your HenryG® dance shoe size

HenryG® shoe sizes are based on US size, however it may not exactly same as the US shoe sizes you are used to wearing. We strongly recommend that you measure your bare foot with a ruler and use the the charts below to find your HenryG® dance shoe size.

Make sure you are standing barefooted when you measure the length of your foot from your heel to your longest toe. Using the corresponding chart below, convert your measurement to your corresponding HenryG® dance shoe size. Don't add another half or full size to this number. Toe room allowance is already built into the shoe itself-usually 3/8"-1/2" more.

NOTE: All HenryG® shoes are considered "Regular" shoe width. If you have a wider foot, please consider increasing your shoe size by a half size to compensate, or custom order.

Tape the paper down to the floor.

Sit with your foot firmly on the floor, and your leg bent slightly forward so that your shin is slightly in front of your ankle.

Trace the outline of your foot and remember to measure your foot without shoes, but with socks similar to the ones you'll be wearing with the shoes you are buying.

Hold the pencil or pen upright and perpendicular to the paper. Do not hold it at an angle.

Make sure the pencil is resting snugly against your foot as you draw around it.

You may actually find it helpful to have someone else trace your foot, but as you can see in this image, it can be done alone.

Repeat these steps for your other foot, and use the larger of the two.

Dance Shoe Heel Protectors, What these for?

You may see lots of people buy heel capes while buying shoes, or heel protectors when they buy dance shoes. Why need buy them? What are those protectors for?

Hear are why:

1. they protect the floor, |grant you more traction, |and most importantly, they protect your heels.
2. Most ladies' dance shoes come with "slim" heels that are between two and three inches in height. This means that the base of the heel is fairly small. In ballroom dancing there are often instances where you'll be putting all your weight in your heels.
3. If you do a few quick calculations you'll find that you could be exerting pressures of a few hundred pounds per square inch on the ends of your heel. If your heels are not properly protected this will cause problems.

The most compelling reason for using heel covers is to protect your dance shoes. Most dance shoes cost quite a lot. The little heel tip on the heel is the first thing that will wear out, and replacing it will cost about from $5-$10 , and may require ordering the replacements, another source of frustration. These heel tips wear away quickly when they aren't protected; just one dance can wear them down to the nail that is keeping them attached to the shoe. The heel protectors are much cheaper and more convenient than constantly replacing the plastic heel tips.
